Warming Floor Tiles Question

Yahoo Message Number: 21019
Hi group (again):

I was not clear in my floor tile warming question to this group. My question is: how do you turn them on? Or, what steps do you take to turn them on?

The first (and only time) we used the floor tiles was by accident I guess. When the interior lights blinked repeatedly we killed everything to make them stop and have never used them since.
Therefore, we still don't know how to turn them on even after studying the instructions.

Help?

Two things needed to turn on the floor heat. 1st is the circuit breaker which should be in the house AC panel near the air conditioning and washer/dryer breakers. 2nd is the thermostat.
Ours is in the bedroom in the shirt closet. Hopefully CC provided the instructions for the thermostat, if not (like us), contact Gold Heat and they can fax or email. The thermostat basically works like a home set-back thermostat. I can send you the faxed instructions for our thermostat via email if you need them but I don't know if its the same thermostat as I understand they may have changed it from '05 to '06.

Shirley, I'm not sure how you would turn your tiles on since ours are a different brand from the ones they are using now, but as an FYI we keep ours on (at 80 degrees) all the time...winter, summer...whatever...it keeps the coach from ever getting damp under any circumstance and no matter what, when you get up in the middle of the night, the warm tiles are nice! Set them and forget them! ....Enjoy! Jan McNeill

We keep our floor tiles at 95 deg at night and 80 in the day time. The only problem is comming from a cool climate to a warmer climate in that there is a 3 hour period when it can be to warm in the coach. and then we reset the thermostat for 80 24hrs a day.

Our thermostat is in the hallway with the other switches, gauges, etc.
It is the Gold Heat. It works independantly of the heat/air thermostat in our coach. There are two little doors on the thermostat - one on each side - that open. On the top left is the on switch. Turn it on.
Then you have to choose which program you want. It comes pre-programmed for different scenerios such as weekdays on at 6am, off at 8:30 am, back on at 4:30pm, off at x pm, etc. You can change these programs or adjust as necessary to suit your lifestyle. If you just want to test it without getting into the programming, you can set it to manual. That is the little thumb up symbol. I'm not in the r.v. right now and can go check for you if necessary but I believe it is the 5th setting. As you press the program button you will finally reach it. Then go to the right side of the thermostat and press the up button to check/change the temperature setting. You can set it for whatever you want. Then wait and the thermostat will revert to the current temperature of the floor. Then go away and wait and see if the floor starts to warm up.

If you need better directions I will go out to the r.v. and go through it exactly. Also I can copy the Gold Heat instruction sheet for you if you didn't get one.
