Hi Steve, I had a sofa on each side but when I did my remodel I had a cabinet made for the passenger side, still have a sofa (new one) on the driver's side. The slides do not scrape and the tile is all that one can see when the slides are extended. Originally there was carpet and padding. The tile is 3/8 inches thick, so no problem - that said I did experiment with several tiles laid in place before I ripped-out everything. It worked fine so I went ahead. As to the weight difference.... I am a pilot, these things aren't airplanes... so gross weight is not a concern... if it was I'd go on a diet or cut down on the number of cases of wine in the basement!

Hi Steve, I might mention that in my '02 LEXA the slides are raised (not flush with the floor) and the furniture sits on a platform that is the actual slide. So the cabinet on the pass. side and the sofa on the driver's side sit above the tiled area when retracted and just cover the tile edge when extended. One can't see the edge of the tile unless on hands and knees. As to cracking joints.... We used a special "flexible" caulk and after installing the new furniture and floor we drove from Vegas to Alaska and back. Anyone who's made that trip will attest to the rough roads. Long story short - - no cracking of tiles or joints.

My wife had been wanting heated floors after some friends bought a coach with heated tile floors. We finally bought a 2006 magna with two zone heated tile. It is quiet it is clean and is cheap when plugged to shorepower. I had no experience with heated floors before this coach but would not want a coach without it again.
