Flojet Water Pump Problems

Yahoo Message Number: 22221
I have a 2004 Allure that has a very noisy water pump. It also chatters a lot after turning off. I cleaned the pre filter without any improvement. I also tried to change the pressure switch setting.
I contacted Flojet and was advised that this problem was probably due to air in the lines. No air in the lines. I finally purchased a new pump which I will install in the next week or so. My question is, has anyone out there had a similar problem and if so, what did you do to solve it?

Check the lines and isolate them from touch each other and especially from touching the fibre glass panels. Heard of others using flexible lines to connect the pump and mounting it to a panel which is isolated from the floor. The noise was my first complaint.

No problems with my CC pump yet, but in my cheap-o trailer, the water pump sounded like a 747 landing on a washboard. The dealer put in flexible lines, enclosed them in that pipe insulation and added rubber mounts. Helped some, but still made noise on occasion. In fact I had just bought a new pump right before looking at the new coach, but now its a moot point, of course (traded it in).

Lou,

On my last coach I had to insulate the water hoses wherever they made contact with anything near the pump. I used the foam pipe insulation. You also need to be sure the pump is insulated from its mounting - usually rubber grommets.

Lou, I have Allure #31038. Owned since new. My FloJet pump has given no problems but is not impressive on flow rate or pressure. In my last SOB I replace FloJet with the new variable pump from the same company and was very pleased with the results.
