Hi Ed,

My premium was reduced to a third of what I paid to Allstate. No claims yet so I don't know? They have one loction in St Louis Mo so very little overhead.

Ed,

I had GMAC insurance coverage for several years, but when they started the warning letter writting campaign telling me that I had bad credit and that my rates would be increased, I went to Progressive. By the way I don't have bad credit. Only been with Progressive a short time, so I don,t know much about them either. Got my quotes online then contacted a local agency and got a lower rate than was given online.

Thanks,
Jon

Hi Ed,

When we purchased our Intrigue in the Fall of 2005, we went with GMAC insurance because of its association with Good Sam. It was the worst insurance experience I have ever had. Every couple of months I would receive a letter stating that my policy had been re-rated (doubled the premium) because of "my failure" to provide them with some piece of information. I would have to call them and get it straightened out -- or so I thought, until the next letter would arrive. We had paid our policy in full so we didn't anticipate a need to "stay in touch" with GMAC and while we were traveling, they sent a bill for another uprate to our policy. Because we did not receive/pay this new bill, they canceled our insurance. When I called, they said that they re-rated our policy because we didn't provide proof of GM affiliation (which we never claimed to have.) When they suggested that I had provided false information (GM affiliation), I suggested that they go back to the original recorded phone calls of when I took out my policy and they would find that I said "no affiliation." Because my policy was canceled due to their bogus re-rate, they re-instated my policy -- just in time for renewal. Even though we had made no claims during the initial policy period, we had a premium increase.
I got a quote from Progressive for the same coverage and almost half the rate. Not only was GMAC a nightmare, they were extremely over- priced. Thank goodness I never had to make a claim, because I'm sure they would have found a way to wiggle out of paying. We are now with Progressive. So far, I haven't received any letters telling me my premium has been increased so this experience is already starting better than GMAC.

OK if you do not need more than $300K. They chose not to renew us when we got our Affinity. Too much.

We have had Progressive on our coach for about 5 years as well as having it on all our other vehicles and the service has been fantastic. Claims handling has been outstanding too. We also travel a lot in Mexico and they cover us there which most insurance companies won't or won't without special acomadations.

Try State Farm. They have the best rates in the industry along with the best claims service...bar none!

Geeeeeee!

Thanks for the information on GMAC. I have called them twice just to get a quote and had a ruff time both times and never did get a solid quote. I have been with progressive for 5 years and just wanted to get another quote to see if I was being taken by progressive.
I find it very hard to get a solid quote from any of the insurance companies, so I just stay wth progressive. Never had any claims so I guess I can say I have good insurance.(Ha- If there is a good insurance col)

We have also been with Progressive for at least 5 years and have had some claims which they always handled in a very fast and satisfactory method. Also they are really easy to deal with when we want to change coverage such as taking off or reinstating coverage for one or another of our vehicles.

Really? Then why did State Farm quote me a rate twice that of everyone else (and that is with me having all my other insurance with them)? Plus, they treat the MH as a big car, rather than considering the special circumstances inherant in a motorhome. GMAC has been acceptable so far.

Progressive for me too. 3 years and counting. Other insurers weren't even close on the quotes that I received. One emergency road service claim and they were perfect with that. Very satisfied.
