Audio on Bedroom TV while on inverter

Good evening group members-I have an interesting puzzle regarding the BR TV. We are boondocking for a few days before we store the coach for a month. We were ttrying to watch a DVD in the bedroom and the audio was fine when the generator was running, but on the inverter we had picture and no audio. Turned the generator back on and audio was OK again. It seems like the audio from the Bose DVD system must go through a 120v line that is not on the inverter. When we are boondocking it seems logical to run the smaller TV and not use the surround system. Has anyone had this happen, and if so how do you correct it so you can have DVD with audio and video in the bedroom? Macke '03 Magna #6277

Assuming that your TV has a speaker in it, the audio on the TV is probably turned off. Go into the menue, find the audio part and you should see a selection that will enable to turn the TV's audio back on.

Maybe the inverter circuit does not power the Bose? Just a guess. See if you can run a lead from a known inverter powered outlet to the Bose. Just a thought.

It could be a problem with the type of power your inverter is supplying. Unless you have a true sine wave inverter the power being provided is at best a modified sine wave.
I have noticed that there are a couple of items on board that do not like the modified sine wave power. For instance, I have a small electric heater that goes bonkers if I should leave it plugged in when switching from generator to inverter. There is also an issue with some of the LCD TVs which are not fond of anything but a true sine wave source.
With respect to the Bose 321 give them a call. I have found their tech support to be excellent.

Thank you for your input Chuck. It is a 20" LCD tv and my inverter is aXantrex 3.0 Prosine true sine wave unit. We had to use the front Bose 321 on high to finish watching the movie, darndest thing. Macke-

-Thank you for your input Mike. All I really want to do is be able to watch a dvd in the bedroom while on the inverter. We had to turn on the Bose in the front loud enough to hear in the bedroom. Fortunately we are on our own lot in WA and there aren'any neighbors close by. We will try again tonight and see what happens. Macke '03 Magna #6277
