Has anyone traveled I-40 recently??? I was told there is a stretch to avoid. Any info would be appreciated. We will be leaving around the 20th of May and heading for Tennessee.

Have been on I-40 from Kingman, Az to and am in Jackson, Tn this evening.
The only problem is construction just across the Mississippi River in Memphis where I-10 narrows to one lane and snakes through Memphis for 4-5 miles through that construction zone. Very slow. There are sections in Arkansas that slow to 50 due to some construction but there never was a backup.

Watch the area just after coming across the across the Mississippi River bridge on I40 as you come in to Memphis if you are heading eastbound. Due to construction the traffic slows quickly to a crawl.
Two days ago there was a very bad RV accident in this area of the highway. The Class A rv was sandwiched between two tractor trailors. Be careful.
