fuel tax

I usually get my fuel right along side the truckers at the larger truck stops. The fuel nozzle is much larger (faster) and I can fill up without having to re-insert my card every $75.00. Someone mentioned that the truckers pay a higher fuel tax than those using the RV/Car fuel pump usually located in front, thus paying more for their fuel. I've never paid any attention to any price difference. Is the RV island fuel cheaper than the the truckers fuel pump? Thanks.

I have only noticed this in AZ. I always fill at truckers side but make sure to tell cashier I am fueling an rv when I pay and they discount the extra tax at that point

In some states, like AZ, the truckers pay a higher fuel tax than RV's.
The tax is by weight. Every station I have filled at in AZ has charged me the lower rate and I also always use the truck island. I think in most cases the cashiers know the difference.
