TV Antenna "Up Switch"

Chris,

That switch is a Sentrol 1136T. It's a magnetic switch used for alarm systems.(normally on a window) I found mine at an electrical supply house also selling alarm supplies. It can be wired normally open or normally closed.

That's what was used originally, any magnetic switch should work. You may find a better substitute, that switch is not designed for exposure to the weather. I covered my new switch with GE silicone and used stainless steel hardware.(worked for three years now, after changing)

Hi Fred,

Thanks for your reply, though it sounds like your switch is different and probably a later design to mine.

The one I have is about the size and shape of a AA battery with 2 wires going into one end. When you tilt the unit you can feel something like a ball bearing going from one end to the other, and it is exposed to the weather by being attached at an angle on the shaft of the antenna.

This does not sound at all like your one, though I may have to adapt to that type you have if I cannot find my original.
