Tax Come On

Yahoo Message Number: 1452
In several motorhome oriented magazines I have seen an ad offering mortorhome owners materials that would turn a motorhome into a tax "shelter". Or at least suggesting strongly an owner can take significant tax deductions simply because of ownership.

The ad is by Tax Advisors Institute located in Las Vegas, NV referencing Ron Reed, CPA. The special price for the $399 package is $299 plus $14.95 shipping and handling.

As a tax preparer and motorhome owner I was intrigued. I e-mailed a question about a money back guarantee.
I was told there was none. But "The package has been reviewed by the National Association of State Board of Accountancy (NASBA) and is approved for continuing education credit for tax professionals."

I contacted NASBA. Their reply was "Tax advisors Institute is not currently a registered sponsor with NASBA" and they are sending corespondence to Tax Advisors Institute telling them to cease such representations.

In short, If its too good to be true .....

Be forewarned. The IRS has been funded and is hiring more auditors. Ask anyone who has had an abusive tax shelter audit in the past, the penalties are significant.

Save your money for a good vacation.
