Plano, TX. RV Park

Yahoo Message Number: 26124
Hi, All. Can anyone suggest a RV Park in Plano? We will be visiting friends there and we are not having any luck finding a park to stay in.
We did find one that is not rated very high 'Spring Creek Village',any comments on this Park?

Seems the Dallas area has lots of nice Parks but not on the north end of town.

Thanks for the help.

Larry,

We lived in Plano for 27 years, moved to Austin 7 years ago, now moving back to North Texas, in the country, near Decatur. Spring Creek Village used to be your basic trailer park. I would not stay there, myself. A couple of years ago we looked in vain for a decent place to overnight near Plano, Allen, Mckinny, and finally gave up. You might be able to boondock at the Allen Outlet mall on the North side of Plano on Hwy 75.
It is a nice new mall with lots of parking that is sheltered from the view from the hwy by the buildings. I have had our Allure in that lot a number of times, so access is no problem.
Good Luck! And if you find an RV park, please let us know, as we could use a stopover closer to home than Bluebonnet down on I20.

I live in Richardson and work at Raytheon just north of Spring Creek Village. Spring Creek Village is now a 'half-n-half'. The northern part of the property is trailer houses - the southern half is RV's. I pass the park every day coming to work and the RV portion (from the road) looks better than some of the parks I've stayed in while travelling around. A lot of the rigs in the southern part of the park are trailer campers but I noticed that there were as many 8-10 Class A's (all the way up to the Prevost level) that appeared to have wintered there last year. As far as convenience, there is a Costco just south of the park, a Wal-Mart just across the highway to the west, a Sam's Club just north of the park, and lots of good restaurants down the highway to the south.

Hi Larry.

I know the park in Plano. It's not the Taj Mahal. There is the Lighthouse RV Resort (swimming pool) Just up the highway, North of McKinney. We've stayed there many times.

1020 US Highway 75 N

Tip: The winds can be quite strong at times in that area. You would be wise to leave your awnings stowed while you're there, especially if you will be away from your rig.

Larry,

I was at the outlet mall in Allen last year in December and I asked about staying overnight in their parking lot and I was refused. They told me I could park on the street behind the mall which was unacceptable to me. Call them before you plan on a overnight stay.
