Slide Problems

I am unable to get the living room slide to extend on my '02 Intrigue. When I try to extend the slide, the rear bottom corner seems to be stuck or maybe the cylinder isn't pushing at all. The front extends normally, but if I don't stop, I'm sure some damage would occur from the twisting action of the slide. There also seems to be some leaking oil above the propane tank where some of the HWH lines are located.

Any suggestions before I take it to the dealer.

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

The only sugestion I have is to make sure the coach is level. I had a corner hang up when we put the slide in and the coach was out of level. Once we releveled the corner poped in. Sometimes you need to manually level the slide side because the computer does not always compensate for the extra slide weight.

Rob, I haven't had any trouble with slide extention but have had the fittings above the propane tank leak. At a CC rally in Tuscon, the HWH tech came out and re-terminated the hoses. His statement was "if HWH buys 1 bad hose, they buy 5,000". Guess I got some of those. To get the leaks fixed, contact HWH and see where their tech is and if he is colse by he will come to you. The fittings are cut off and new ones are swedged on. As far as a cylinder not working, I would make sure the hydrolic (sp)supply is full. and give it another try. If it doesn't work, give CC a call. Good luck.

I just had all of the hoses as well as the cylinder changed out through my dealer. We have been hunting down a leak for a while as the slide would back itself out over a period of time. Finally I ended up with hydraulic fluid in the ceiling carpet in the roof portion of the slide over the couch.
Upon inspection the tech said he found eleven leaks.
He got approval through CC and HWH to change out he whole system. The HWH rep said that HWH got a bunch of bad hoses from there supplier. I would take it to a CC approved service center or get the HWH rep to come out.
This problem is not just in CC but any coach with an HWH system in it that was during the period they had these bad hoses.

I have 1 98 affinity that HWH worked on. They tightened the fittings so tight they damaged the seats. I had to replace the fittings.

The slide will not operate unless the voltage to the pump relay is at least 11.5 volts. the relay operates off of the chassis batteries, the pump operates off of the house batteries.

Had the same problem, 2000 Magna, chased it till I was sick of the issue, replaced the relay, talked to Hwh, cc, etc. No one could identify the problem. When I tried to pass my findings back to CC the tech would not return my call. Guess they could care less so long as the problem goes away.
