You should also be aware that Canada requires and automatic brake away system on your supplemental braking system. This feature is standard on the US Gear Unified Tow Brake. On many other systems it is either optional or not available.

Thanks for the advice on that breakaway issue. Ill be in Canada over the summer and I'll be sure to get the breakaway device BB offers. I wasnt aware of that law. Are there any States in the US that require it that you know of ?

I am not aware if the seventeen or so states that require supplemental braking systems on tow vehicles require automatic break- away features or not. I do know that Canada does. It seems that each state seems to make up their own rules, and it appears that feature is goverened by the weight of the tow vehicle. My personal opinion is that it should be required on every tow vehicle or trailer. No one wants a detached vehicle or trailer coming at them. I do not work for or sell the Unified Tow Brake, just been very happy with the features and performance on the unit I have been using even if they are a little expensive and require professional installation.

Tow Safely.
