SE GI fogging windows

I know that this topic has had a lot of items in the past tbut since I did not have a problem I skipped the topics.
WELL now my drivers toll both large front side window has fogged so bad that I can not see in the mirror. I talked to country coach and the tech said that the wty is three years and my 2005 inspire that I bought at the FMCA rally in minot in sept of 2005 is over three years old.
Must be some kind of CC math I guess. I have full glass coverage so I guess I can get a kid to throw a rock once I get to Texas next month but for now any good ideas to see out the blasted thing. I am in gattlinburg so yes it is hot and humid and now what I have in texas all winter.

Don 2005 (Yes it is over 25 months old) Inspire 51235 bought from Beaudry from Tuscon Az and I would never buy anything major at a rally again.

Why on earth CC is still using this window manufacture is beyond anyone with any common sense. This window company has been building defective RV windows since 1996 Safari-Beaver products also come to mind.

Okay to answer your question... You are kinda out of luck buddy. Once they fog up (due to poor seals) the moisture is hard pressed to leave the dual pane window frame. If you're lucky it might condensate to the bottom and clear up some. A hair dryer might do this.
Bottom line SE-GI windows should be recalled by the NTSB... There is NO excuse for this sort of defect after 11 years of manufacturing RV windows-!!

Had similar problem on passenger side Southwind - For the interest of safety, had a independent glass shop replace the dual pane with a single pane. Cost was maybe $150 took couple hours

Every Se-Gi window in our coach has failed. CC and Se-Gi replaced all the windows I requested until the coach was 3 years old - now we're on our own.
I have no idea what the life of these designs should be but in the colder climes failure of dual pane windows is common in stationary houses which are not bounced all over creation. I'm not defending Se-Gi just making an observation.
We've decided to leave them alone at this point. None of the failed windows still in the coach affect safety or do we even look out of them often. Another motivation is that Se-Gi windows are practically hand made so the replacements might not meet the exact dimensions of the original. At least two of the replaced windows in our coach do not cover the opening the same as the originals and white gel coat can be seen around the frame where it doesn't completely cover the original installation. This can be touched up but replacing them brings on additional problems. One of the replacement installations also leaks when it rains where the factory installation didn't. It has become an issue where the cure leaves other problems behind.
The toll pass through window, if failed, must be replaced for obvious safety reasons. I'm leaving the others alone as long as I can.
FWIW Se-Gi replaced a widnow in our 2000 Intrigue. That was the "old" design which was changed to the current seal system - doesn't seem to have improved anything and based on our two CC coaches ony failed on the Intrigue, all have failed on the Inspire. This is progress?

This is awful, but it must be some unknown manufacturing factor that causes these windows to fail. This coach has been in temperatures ranging from 20 below zero to well above 100F over 5 years and no failures (yet) so I doubt temps alone are what causes this. I guess if SeGi knew they would fix it! Sounds like the new design may be worse than the old one!

Is there any chance that washing with a high pressure washer could have caused the windows to leak ?

This mght have been the cause of our window fogging ?

I wish I could tell you I knew. I don't think anyone really knows was my point. Perhaps SeGi does and it is top secret. They must study failed windows, I assume.

Inspire 51321 was built & sold in August 2004. Toll window was first replaced with fogged new window September last year. Second warranty window was sent last spring. It may also be factory fogged but it is still hiding in shipping box.

NHTSA & segi have been mentioned repeatedly on this list but I remember no post of NHTSA causing replacement of defective driver window.

I pulled into the campground near Biltmore mansion today and found a twin for my CC that is one year older than mine. First question from the owner was how many SEGI junk windows have you put in, I had to buy three myself.

I have found that a hair dryer will clear the fog enough that I can see the mirror.
