I also have another thing that should be checked.
You say they replaced the bolts. Check and see if that replacement was a grade 8 or stronger bolt. A grade 5 is not recommended for that application. An easy way to tell the grade 8 is shinny gold tint color on the bolt and not. If they are all silver they need to be replaced. ASAP AL

Al I appreciate all of your excellent input. Wish you had been here
when I had the first alignment done. This is the shop CC has always recommended.I am sure almost everyone in this group knows the name. I would appreciate any suggestions for a good shop in CA or AZ that I can go to as we head south. Macke 2003 Magna# 6277

Macke, ask at CC for the name of the alignment shop in Grant's Pass. They have a good reputation.

The name of the company in Grant's Pass is:

Henderson Line-Up
417 SW Henderson Lane
Grants Pass, OR 97527
541 955-0769

Hope this helps. We had our 2000 Allure aligned there in October.

I don't think you can judge the bolt grade based on color. Hashmarks on the head of the bolt is the usual way; grade 5 = 3 hash marks and grade 8 = 6 hashmarks in both cases evenly disstributed over the head of the bolt. Unfortunately there are no identification marks on nuts.
There have also been a lot of counterfiet bolts from you can guess which country.

Bob, you are right and the color is not the correct way to judge. Hash marks are suppose to be the guide, along with reliable suppliers, conscious tech's. I just happen to remember the Peter Built truck problem when the bolts broke off holding the steering box in place. Counterfeit and from you know where.
