Hello group,

John here from Illinois, 2001 CC Affinity, #6004, all electric.

Our coach has the bose surround, DVD, VCR, no satellite.
For the time being, we decided to replace the tube TV's with digital flat screens. I will start mounting them today. We found a 24" Samsung for the front 22" for the rear that fit inside the existing enclosures. Some trim work once mounted and we will be part way home.
By just changing the TV's we have everything except the DVD player working. Thats good enough for the summer season.
Due to changes between the old and the new audio/video equipment, I just dont see a simple way to get it all talking. Our new TV's dont support "S" video or old school discrete audio video inputs.
Long term, I think we would change to a new DVD blue ray player, no VCR at all, source switch box probably has to change and maybe the receiver too, to accept HDMI. ???
This will likely mean pulling wires across the coach and from the back bedroom forward, maybe.
Interested in learning from those of you who have changed out everything. Both your experiences and choices and if you found a good resource when it comes to making these changes.
Honestly the way the switchbox and CD player are installed, it will require some destruction to even get at the back of them. So, until we decide to upgrade it all and have all the pieces in hand, this is good enough.
If you have a plan that worked for you, tips, tricks and hints or a supplier that was particularly good, I would like to hear about it.

thank you,

John Mitchell

Hi John, let me tell you how we did our system. 2000 Affinity.
We took out both tv's, and mounted both a satellite receiver, and Blue Ray player where the TV''s were located. In front, we sat a tv on the small area behind drivers seat, right next to the Bose system. Was able then to run an HDMI cable directly from Blue Ray to the TV, and extended the coax on to the tv as well. For the satellite receiver, I just use RCA type (yellow, red, White) push on connections. We do not use an HD satellite receiver yet, but will upgrade some day. When I do, a second HDMI cable will work just fine. In the bedroom, sort of the same, we mounted a satellite receiver where the old tv was, and pretty much connected the same way. With the booster on, and antenna mode on switch box, we get great H D tv. Switching the tv from a/v, or to tv, we can jump back and forth with the remote. Up front, we are using a 32" flat panel tv, 37 would fit fine. I could send a picture if you would like. We are using a Motosat 18" Executive satellite automatic system, and it works great. At this time, we run a dvr satellite receiver in the bedroom, and just a standard receiver up front. Will go the HD, DVR's some day.
Hope this will give you some ideas.
