Panel Indicator Lights/Cluster

Yahoo Message Number: 40301
I have a 05, Inspire, 51322. Does anyone else have difficulty seeing the indicator lights thru the dark lens? No problem at night. During the day, they are of little use to me. Any suggestions. Is this lens easy to remove? Perhaps I can have a replacement piece of plastic cut to fit?

Thanks

Gil,

This has been ongoing complaint - the lights are so small the output is limited. There have been suggestions to check that the grounding circuit is making good connection as this would cause the lights to burn dimly. I believe the problem is the lights. If you take off the curved dash cover you can easily see the setup. I am hoping someone comes up with a solution based on an LED. Using brighter incandescent bulbs just causes things to get hotter and I don't think there is much room for a larger lamp and there appears to be no air circulation to carry away the excess heat.

Maybe someone has a new idea.

Bob and Gil,

There are many, many of us out here who have warning lights we cannot read due to poor illumination. There is absolutely no excuse for this. We paid for warning lights that we can see, but CC will not offer a fix. That is incredibly poor service from CC, but nothing surprises me with Country Coach management team. How can they get away with this? They can get away with this because we let them and they know they can. Criminal. Can you spell class action? I had a headlight that was fogging during the first year of ownership and they would not replace it. If I have an accident at night and my headlight is fogged, I sure hope CC has good some good lawyers, because they are going to need them.
If you are anyone comes up with a fix for the warning lights, please post it. Country Coach, if you're monitoring this, thanks for nothing. There is no doubt in my mind that any good motorhome manufacturer would have never let their coaches off the assembly line if they had this problem.

Thanks R. D.

I'll take a look around the panel when I get the it back from the shop. That's another story.
Can anyone advise on how to remove the front panel? I'll ask a tech @ CC and let the group know.

Gil,
The rear of my '04 Inspire just pushes (pulls?) out toward the windshield to expose everything in the dash. No screws involved. George

I have an 07 Allure that was purchased in sept. The right front headlight was fogged up and was just replaced at Bueadry RV. Tucson (yes they did so after they found the headlight that CC sent them in March) Don't have any problems seeing my dash lights, day or night.
If your coach is under warranty don't see why they will not replace it. they tested mine to make sure it was not fogging up because of hole in lens assembly.

11731, thats a good idea if you have a place to send them to. Plus why should I have over $600.00 tied up and then try to get my money back from a dealer that is doing the warranty.?? Don??

Our '05 has 4 screws. Look at the top of the dash and you will see plastic caps. These are covering the screw and cap retainers. Remove the caps, remove the screws with retainer and push the cover towards the windshield. This gives pretty good access to everything in that area.

I don't recall seeing any caps, but when I get it back from the body shop, it's the first thing on my list of "to dos"

Also look for a screw on the lower left hand side - - coming UP into the pod cover from beneath the dash. Below the headlight switch as I recall.

Yes, they are practically invisible in any kind of light. There are a few people who have added an exernal set of lights (green/yellow/red) in a small pod on top to alert when a 'normal', 'warning' or 'critical' indicator is on. It's been a while since I saw this circuit, and don't remember if it was in this forum or one of the general forums.
