Norcold "no-co" code

Yahoo Message Number: 40471
Planned to leave Thursday. Norcold four door quit with no-co code and audible alarm. Does not work on LP or AC. Manual says reset but other than turning off and on again, what is reset? Where to start?

We used to have this problem frequently with our 4 door Norcold. It has been several years since I had to reset it but a tech somewhere along the way had me take an alligator clip and reset the control box from the back of the Norcold. I don't remember exactly which 2 terminals I reset but you could probably try several and make it work.
I think we turned it off, reset it, turned it back on, and it was fixed.

Lyle,

Here is the reset procedure:

"Here is what I do to reset. Leave the refrigerator turned on and beeping the code. Access the rear of the fridge thru the vent cover outside with two half turn screws and remove the circuit board cover with 1/4" sockets. There will be a 16 pin connector in front of you (it is lower left for me). Make a jumper about 4-5 inches long and insert 1 end in the #15 pin location which is vacant(top row second from left). Touch other end to one of the three grounds at the bottom right corner of the board (white wires). Hold for 10-15 seconds. You should hear a click as the control resets. If the fridge does not cool down and go thru a full complete cooling cycle, this could be an indication of other problems such as a faulty cooling unit. If that occurs you should take it in to be checked further."

I've used this procedure before and it does work.

Brian, et al

Just did the reset and it came on. Will monitor it the rest of the day to see what happens. Brian, I found your previous msg of some time ago and followed the reset procedure. Thanks a bunch. Fingers crossed.
