Advantium Oven

I am unable to operate my microwave using the inverter. There is power to the oven, but when turned on, the power is not sufficient to operate. The light dims and the turntable moves very slowly and it does not heat.

Comments please.

I suspect that your house batteries aren't fully charged.
Maybe the unit has been parked for a week or more without the "shore" connection?

If they aren't well-charged after a couple of hours ride, it could be that the auto batteries aren't charging the house batteries.
When the engine runs, there is a oil-pressure switch that connects the two sets of batteries (the same way as when you press the "boost" switch).

The Advantium Ovens use lots of electricity period. I would assume that your batteries need to be fully charged to run it. You should be able to check the specs of the oven to determine how much it draws. Also check your batteries to make sure that they are fully charged. Be thankful you have the 110 V version......read on!
We got a 2001 Affinity and it did not have the Advantium. Our home kitchen microwave died and my wife liked the coach micro wave -- same as the house. So we took the one out of the coach and went shopping for a new micro for the coach. She then fell in love with the Advantium. BUT just as I was about to sign up for delivery the sales clerk said (back in Jan. 2000) "oh by the way, the oven requires a 220 V line. After lots of advice to the contrary from CC, I rewired the circuit panel box and got a new 220 V line/s to the kitchen cabinet. We must have the generator running or be connected to shore power to run the oven. So I guess you should be thankful the they have come out with a 110 V version of the oven. That announced came shortly after I spent 5 days running the 220 V line :-(

Thanks Henk, but I am full-time so the unit stays plugged in. The inverter panel says that the batteries are 100% charged. Any other ideas??

One thought: you can call GE's answer center (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) at 800-626-2000 to see if they have any ideas.

They finally decided to replace the inverter yesterday afternoon. Seems to have fixed the problem. Will have to check it out some more, but so far--so good.

Hi Group, For household use the Advantium Oven is available in either 110V or 220V configuration. The price differential is huge (about $650) and I was wondering what you get for the additional expense and is it worth it.
Does anyone have an Advantium 220V in their home and can compare to the units installed by CC?

We have the Advantium oven in our '06 Inspire. And, of course, the oven has glass and metal turntables inside. On our previous coach (a 32' gas - which, of course, did not have air suspendion), the dealer recommended that the glass turntable be removed from the microwave when travelling to prevent it from 'jumping out of the microwave while travelling'. With the larger, heavier, smoother-riding DP, do we need to worry about the oven turntables being jostled enough to knock the door open and 'commit suicide'? Has anyone had their turntable(s) try to escape while running down the road?

We have a shorter 06' Inspire with the same Microwave, with 9000 miles and have not had a problem with that as of yet and have hit some bone jarring bumps out there. Now that you brought it up, I wonder if it would be smart to put a dishtowel or something down underneath the glass while traveling. We did have piece of the Corian cover over the stove top pop a little bit, I was glad I saw that before it hit the floor.

We've had the Advantium in 2 different coaches and never a problem with the door coming open. We use the micro for storage of bread, sweet rolls etc. when on the road so they won't fly off the counter.
