Erratic Entry Step

Two things to try. If you feel as though the plunger is not depressed far enough for your step; take a piece of rubber and with some double- sided tape apply it to the door frame where the switch makes contact.
This will make that switch depress a little further. Hopefully, enough to keep that step in. If that cures it, then you will have to adjust the switch out to make better contact.
The most likely cause is a poor ground. There should be two ground wires going to the square tube frame where the step is.(climb under the coach, way to the under side of the step) They should be green, and you may have only one. Make sure the ring connector is clean and bright and electrically and mechanically secure. Sand the area clean where the wire connects and change the self drilling screw to stainless steel. Coat the connector and screw with some GE silicone.I would change the ring connector anyhow. That way you can check the condition of the wire. There is also a Molex plug connecting the step wiring to the coach wiring. Separate that and make sure everything is clean and not corroded.

On this subject, how does one clean off the old grease and lubricate the steps. Does one have to remove the metal cover plate with the 8 screws?? ron and molly '01 Intrigue # 11262 san diego
