This last summer we drove from Las Vegas, NV to Junction City. Total miles was 1873. All kinds of highways. 2 and 4 lane plus Interstates 5 and 80. Used the Economy M ode on the Allison. Kept speed between 58 and 63.
We have a 2009 Inspire, 36 foot with the ISL 425 engine.(52176) We averaged between 7.8 and 8.5 MPG.. We do not tow. Calculations were manual. We do not have Silverleaf.

Have a great 2013!!!

Jump in with a question. So taking off the big mud flap lowers drag and helps with economy? We dont have to run to be legal? Thanks

Don't know what it does but it lowered my transmission temp and added .4 MPG to my Cummins.

Doesn't your coach kick up stones on to your toad without the flap? John 03 Allure 30951

Nope, the flaps behind the rear wheels stop them. The flap was simply for advertising.

We did the same thing re removing the rear flap after reading about taking it off helping with the gas mileage.

Adding to what George said, others have reported sometime the 'adevertisement flap' scrapes the ground and kicks up rocks. We have not removed ours yet, but I do know our toad has more small rocks and gravel at the bottom of the windshield then it ever had with the small Bounder. The Bounder had a grass Rock Guard skirt vs solid - so perhaps that made a difference.

Ours is coming off early in 2013.

Best to all,

Anyone in the Tucson AZ area have one they want to get rid of let me know, I may be interested. Mine has been off for two years and I can see no differance in the coach, except for easier access to the rear of the coach engine area. My Saturn lower radiator is getting beat up, so I put a foam noodle in the opening. That seemed to help, just have to remember to remove it.

All I can say, After 3 trips to AK. One with out the mud Flap. This trip i had rocks coming up and on to the car + getting all over the Eng. all the way inside the fan.
Done the same thing going WEST to East and East to West I-90 & I-10 South to FL. on I-95 in all these trips with it on and with out the Flap.
What i can see no more MPG with it off, I GET 7.3 MILES PER GAL.@1550 RPM 62/63 MPH @ 1750 RPM 69/70 MPH/6.5 MPH 2000 ALLURE # 30498/330 HP. CUMM.So i guest that all the RVs are not the same! THIS IS WHAT I KNOW! This is not to get any one up set! "HAPPY NEW YEAR" After the last trip with out the Flap i had to repaint the FRW part of the car.
The best to Y-all in 2013! DMG 2000 ALLURE 330 HP with Flap on.# 30498
