Entry door noise fixed

This was a tough one. { Remember, this door dheck (limit) is NOT the one with the curved bar going from a bracket on the door frame to inside the door}. The fix involved disassembling the decor door panel, pull handle, door opener handle w/deco trim, etc.. Then the entire door check had to be removed from inside the door and from the frame where the wide bar is attached. This wide bar goes into the door and is attached to a metal block which also houses the big spring. Once everything was removed and taken to the work bench it was evident that the wide bar was chafing, big time, on the block to which it is attached. The bar was removed from the block and taken to the bench grinder where the chafed part was ground down about 3/32 of an inch. The bar was then reattached to the block and the entire assembly was reinstalled into the door and the door frame. The job took about five hours but part of that time was head scratching time. I would guess the whole job could be done in about two hours the second time around. The popping, grinding, noise is gone and the door works smoothly. If anyone wants to attempt the job feel free to contact me if advice is needed.
