I would not say never... Several coaches have 2 inverters and most of them will run 1 ac from the inverter.

A lot of upper end coaches have 4 4,000 watt inverters and can run multiple acs from the inverters. Most of these have fairly large house battery banks.

Mikey you are right, but no matter how big the battery Bank you're still limited on the amount of time you can use them and the inverters and batteries take a toll.
Frankly that's what generators are for.. it's funny but Steve who owns Colton truck and I are friends and we were just talking about that the other day. His comment was why are people so damn cautious about running their generators. That's what they're for, and for continuous duty.

You are probably right never say never. That said that must be one massive battery bank to last more than a few minutes. A 20 amp pull in ac is 200 amp pull roughly on dc.

I do not disagree. I usually run mine anytime I need a roof unit. My coach has a 500 amp house alternator and 8 4D AGMs. It will run 2 roof units while driving on the 2 4000 watt inverters, but I prefer to use the generator rather that take horsepower away from the engine.

those 10 or 12 battery rigs can run the rear air all night long with no problem.

way better to run the generator, the inverters and batteries are really expensive and really don't need to be stressed by air conditioners.

Back in NC.

I rest set the therm once and it worked. The front AC was getting lazy again, I tried to rest again.. Now if I hold the zone, and mode while turning it on, I get FF then I release the 2 buttons and it goes to EE.. If I turn it of and back on, Still EE. I disconnected the telephone wire in back and tried hooking it back up. Still got an EE. If I turn off and old the mode and zone, I do get FF, but when I realize back to EE.. I might have to call IN. in the morning and see what EE means..

Bob, some time ago I was getting similar problems with my two A/C setup in my Magna. In my case is was failure when raining and success when dry. Finally got hard failure. Removed covers on roof to find some mud dauber material on the circuit board. I cleaned that up and replaced the cb and performed the reset and all have been well since.

Something to check perhaps. Good luck.

On the phone jacks, we had a problem with the error codes popping up on the 5 button thermostat. It resulted in sporadic results on both AC's, running but not properly, even after the thermostat reset. I had two out the I think (memory foggy) of the phone jack couplings with mold like gunk in them. So I bought electrical cleaner, a fine old toothbrush, and a can of air. Cleaned and then dried all of the male ends of the plugs. Replaced two of the female/female couplings, and cleaned the last one (or two). This got both of our 15K units up and running properly.

I now do this maintenance once a year.

These bits are so interconnected, that the front unit could be impacted by a rear units phone jacks.

And also agree with removing he shrouds, and inspecting for anything that does not belong:)! And a good cleaning of the coils never hurts either.

On the side topic of battery powered AC. A few of the lithium banked systems, have owners running AC's for several hours. They can recharge so much faster then wet or AGM batteries, that this is now becoming a practical way to go. To me, this would have been probably only a short term type usage, vs the norm. As I agree that generator is a better way to go for longer AC usages.

Best of luck to you on this. Please come back and let us know what you find out.

Smitty performed a Exorcism, and killed the ghost living in my coach front AC.... LoL...
