New coach buyers must have some smarts because their the ones who made the money to keep you used buyers in coaches. I don't think this comment or the fact that new coach buyers are not smart desreves a signature.

About the front TV that quits while driving
If you run genset on road, does front TV still fail after a few hours? If so, inverter is not problem.

My guess is TV makes more heat when powered by inverter. Maker did write TV should not be run on non-sine wave power. A small fan moving air into cabinet around TV might cure problem at minimum expense. TV may be switching off to avoid damage by over heating.

When I bypass the 12 volt front TV kill switch, it will be removed totally, not left to possibly interfere or be dead weight.
We do not travel with inverter on for appliances. Onan makes 120 VAC with less diesel fuel than Cat plus much less fuel is used to run the large hydraulic cooling fan. Roof air conditioning units cost less to run.
160 volt spikes are not significant. Normal 120 VAC service ranges from 0 to +169 VDC to 0 to - 169 VDC to 0 sixty times each second. Normal power spikes are exceed 169 volts. Surge suppressors normally clip spikes above 200 volts and never below 180 volts.

The Sola transformer is an effective reliable device with long life span. 2605-0250M Sola is rated 250 watts, 85 % efficiency at full load, 60db transverse electric noise reduction. At 13 pounds weight, it might well cure the problem. Still I question running the inverter on road, rather that the genset. The alternator makes 14 VDC at less than 60% efficiency. The inverter must make 14 VDC into 120 VAC at maybe 85% efficiency. Onan's PMG is far more efficient and the output is sine wave, not stepped square wave ("modified sine wave") so the TV should be satisfied.

Hi All,

We took delivery of our new '05 Allure 470 (#31254) on Saturday. Wow, what a coach! We have just a few things to take care of Monday after the delivery. Over all we are so pleased with this coach. Lots to learn even tho' it is our 5th diesel.
We sure enjoy this group, learning all the time.

WeWe also have an 05 Allure 470 # 31199 picked it up Dec 04 at factory, our first coach ever. We chose the propane combination frig and have had a problem that occurred due to installation issues. You may want to have it checked to be sure install was OK to prevent furure problems. Ours was fixed anand works great now. We already have over 16,000 miles on the coach anand love it. M Bain

Thanks for the info. Our Allure has the residential refer and the only propane is to the cook top. Finally....a refer that I don't have to defrost every week!

Wow! This was your first coach ever....that was a lot to learn! We're glad we've had experience with other diesels, Hydro Hot etc.
There is still a lot to learn about this one....like what light switch works what! There are a lot of similarities to our previous coach and a lot of differences! Keeps life interesting! We've had this one 2 days and sure like it. We just have to get used to the roof air since the previous coach had quiet basement air. Always trade offs!

We dry camp almost exclusively, unless we are staying long term somewhere, so we got the propane frig. I haven't had to defrost, apparently there is an auto defrost in these, so I was told anyway.
We love the coach, it is fabulous. I think the coach and lifestyle change are 2 of our better decisions in life. Although I must admit, we were so overwhelmed for the first couple months or so, I thought we would go crazy. I did notice the roof air/heat pumps are noisier than I thought they would be, but otherwise work very well. All in all our we are very content. M Bain

We enjoy the Heat Pump Noise while sleeping as "white noise". It filters out the noise of DP pulling out at 6:00 AM and the 1200PM partying while providing moving air.
