We've had all of our angle trim n the slides reattached. Another good product is 3M's 5200 'Fast Curing'.
Our large slides have three pop rivets now (When I first did them, I used the 5200 and stainless steel screws. Which were holding up well after three years of usage. But had them swapped out for pop rivets when I had the rear slides done.) in three places. The rear are held by two pop rivets and the shop used Silka Flex.
I keep a yearly fresh bead of clear seal caulking along the top edge on the side slide walls, to shed water over/off the angle. (The adhesives look to be holding well, but like to keep the water from having a penetration between the angle and the side wall - thus the bead of caulking.)
One other owner who used to post here (Was it Dallas?), also found some 3M Colored Tape that matched his color scheme well. He out a strip of that over the leading edge on the sidewall as additional insurance. (We can't find tape that matches our paint close enough. And seem to be doing well without it.)
On the top of the slides, are other joints that thru time can leak. We've kept these caulked where needed, as well as large steps of 2" wide Eterna Bond over the joints. (Not seen from the ground, so not worried about appearances.)
We've been lucky, no leaking ever took place. Knocking on wood!
I did the large slides about two years before the small bedroom slide (We have 2 slides on our coach.) because I had popped one of the large slides angle pieces loose due to a learning curve on our coach. 115 or so outside when we pulled into a Reno campground with the generator running and both 15K Penguin II's running on high. I did not open a window, and as I tried to open the front slide, the vacuum made the slide get a bit out of kilter. That stress on the slide, was enough to pop one of the angle pieces loose. Gorilla taped it back into place for the remainder of the trip. Then did the drilling and SS Screws with 3M the were back home. And yes, we now leave a window or door open when in/out the slides:)! (And the slide self corrected, with the window open. Power Gear Electric slides on both of ours.)
Best to you and all, have fun, be safe,
Smitty
