It was a large savings over State Farm in Missouri with MT LLC. The RV splty insurers have nice things like replacement coverage, windshield replacement, etc. They are worth checking into.Linda98 Intrigue 10678Posted by: "jockvargo" jockvargo@... jockvargo Fri Jun 22, 2007 12:28 pm (PST)Jay I also have National Interstate and found the coverage was one of the best and price one of the most competitive. Re: Insurance Reply #26 – June 23, 2007, 06:13:51 pm Yahoo Message Number: 32221Jay,We found GMAC to be the best. Be sure to consider "Replacement Cost Coverage". If you have it, they will replace your coach, until it is over 5 model years old, then they will pay you what you paid for it originally, if it is totalled. We have a friend that recently fell asleep at the wheel and totalled his SOB. Luckily, he didn't get hurt (no one was coming toward him in the other lanes). B. Ward2000 Magna 5916Quote from: catamarantab Quote Selected
Re: Insurance Reply #27 – August 09, 2007, 11:35:38 pm Yahoo Message Number: 33329Hi Group, Our friends with a SOB purchased a new CC Inspire at the rally last week. Now they are shopping for insurance. Several people on this board have suggested Progressive in past communications.I am trying to help my friends and have a couple of questions. Does Progressive charge less for part timers who drive less then 10000 miles per year? Any 'ballpark' figures for a policy that has replacement value, collision and uninsured drivers on a coach with a value of say $300K.Also, assuming no other insurance is carried with Progressive.Just trying to get some general information for my friends. In case you are wondering my own insurance is associated with our multi vehicle coverage, real property and an umbrella policy all with the same company so my rates for the MH are not typical.Thank you,David, 2006 Allure 31383 Quote Selected
Re: Insurance Reply #28 – August 10, 2007, 12:02:51 am Yahoo Message Number: 33331Full replacement value for 5 full years??... I'd have to say try Good Sam (GMAC) for that kind of coverage. Good for the first 5 years of ownership... Yes you pay more for this coverage... But again with so many standard drivers only carrying absolute minimums {15K} on their "property damage" part of their insurance. PD is what pays for damage/ repair to the other persons vehicle. Then your under/un-insured coverage will kick in... But as we all know these under/un limits are rather minimal at best even on the best policy. I have progressive on my 99 Allure (cash valve 75K and high limits of 500/300/200/60K runs me $988 for 12 months in Sacramento 95821 zip code 500/100 deductible) Cash value will drop each year, till it's next to nothing, cash valve wise... But again I don't really care (get something different every 18 months). I buy peoples used scraps at 25 cents (cash) on the used 7 year old dollar. So take care of all those great Country Coach units. Thanks...Gordo99 Allure 30344 Quote Selected
Re: Insurance Reply #29 – August 10, 2007, 10:15:29 am Yahoo Message Number: 33344We just change a couple months ago. We got a quote from FMCA and it was much better than the cost from the previous carrier. Premium less, with higher coverage. We are not full timers. The previous insurance was increasing every year with no claims.Ned Herrmann 2006 Inspire 51677 Quote Selected
Re: Insurance Reply #30 – August 10, 2007, 11:30:58 am Yahoo Message Number: 33345David, I have Progressive and have been happy with them. Coming back from Alaska last year I hit a deer in canada. I stopped in Washington to get an estimate for Progersssive and was told $4800 in damages. However it would have taken too long to get the repairs done so I went on back home to Tennessee. There I was told $9300 by Buddy Gregg in Knoxville for the exact same work, labor and parts. Progerssive didn't bat an eye, they just sent me the check. They were very helpful though out the ordeal. In hind sight I wished I had stayed in washington to get the repairs done because of the poor workmanship at Buddy Gregg, but that is another story Rich Affinity 5384 Quote Selected
Re: Insurance Reply #31 – August 10, 2007, 06:00:19 pm Yahoo Message Number: 33352David,If you live in Texas (or other states) join Texas Farm Bureau. They started writing RV insurance and the coverage can not be beat. They offer up to a million liability, full coverage, towing, etc. on coach and toad. I bid my '06 Inspire and Honda Pilot out to six different so called (RV insurers) and FB beat them by a minimun $1,000. a year. Go mfor it!
