inspire air filter question

Yahoo Message Number: 50270
Hi I have a 05 inspire and was looking at the air filter. I have been watching the air minder and it has been pulling 18 inches. The previous owner said there was an expensive cleanable filter installed. I would like to check the filter and am unsure how its removed. It has snap clamps around the body but it looks like both the upper and lower air ducts would have to be removed. The upper could be dificult. Have any of you replaced your filter and do you see lower values on the air minder.
Thanks

Rod I have an 04 Inspire and just changed my air filter. The filter is a one piece unit the canister and filter is one unit. The top flexible hose was very difficult to put back on. Since the previous owner said it had a cleanable filter its not the same.I only want to warn you about the top flexible hose .

Thanks Bill

I dont think the filter housing is aftermarket only the filter element itself. The canister is painted red and looks like the lable reads SPC. Your discription of the upper clamp sounds the same and it does look like a hassle. You would think the filter would be designed more friendly for replacement.
