Mirror knobs

I have had two of the mirror knobs on my mirrored cabinets come apart. What should I use to reattach them? Superglue? Or something else?

A few years ago I had the same thing happen to the mirrored door that for our washer/dryer closet. We had a habit of hanging a shirt or jacket on it and it pulled off. I used some Loctite super glue to put it back on and have had no problem with it since. Of course we do not use it to hang clothes on it any more.

A lot of glues will destroy the backing on mirrors. A good hardware store or auto parts store will have an adhesive made for mirrored glass.

We have had to replace several knobs, bought replacement knobs from Lazy Days in Seffner Fl. They were not very expensive and easy to install, just pull tape off in push on. Make sure surface is clean.

After two attempts to fix an identical problem, one by a professional glass man, I used a two part epoxy glue from Home Depot and (I think this is very important) I cleaned and roughed up both surfaces with good sandpaper. Put the handle on the door, mark the outline with anything that will show up on the mirror- a crayon is good- and only rough it up inside the outline. Mine has been on now for two years.
