IS Cummins Engine Pre-Lube

Yahoo Message Number: 3805
I sent Cummins my Engine's Serial Number in inquired regarding it having an internal pre-lube oil system and got the response shown below. It's a little confusing. Even though there appears to be no official "Pre-Lube" per say The portion stating "our IS-system engines will not allow the engine to start and run until oil pressure is attained" tells me there is something similar to a pre-lube functioning within the engine..
I still want to pursue a more exacting answer from Cummins. This appears to be one of those automatic database matching responses.

Summary: Pre-Lubing System prior to Starting Solution:

The question would be best asked of the pre-lube manufacturer; but, as we understand the RPM system (one such product on the market), the starter is used to activate (on the larger engines, on the smaller engines it is a separate electric motor) a small pump which "pre-lubes" the oil system, i.e.: creates oil pressure in advance of the engine cranking. It's particularly beneficial for engines that have not been started in a long time (though our IS-system engines will not allow the engine to start and run until oil pressure is attained) or for engines have have a lot of hot "key off" and "restarte" events - like delivery trucks.
If you have an RPM (brand) system, you can give Jack a call at 812-342-1310 for further clarification or more detailed questions. But, basically that's how it works .....like an oil pump without the engine running.
