I wish to thank RJ Long, Jeff, Aaron, Bob, George and all others who have written about the Performance issue. I find it really interesting and RJ refers us to some very interesting articles at www.busnut.com. Afraid I am not ready to take up double clutching at age 62 RJ. I did do that when I worked on farms back in the 50's and was glad that I did not have to show my "skills" on the public roads! While I also drove shifts until 1998 arthritis in my left knee appreciates modern automatics. A few things are better nowadays then back in the good ole days! I am more interested in Economy then Performance and speed and agree that getting down the mountain is more important then getting up. Now to hopefully put all this theory into practice! Once the temp warms up and the white stuff disappears I eagerly await taking off in my Allure. Thanks again to all for sharing their expertise. Mike Lewis. 2000 Allure #30493.
