LP Gas Detector

Anyone have a problem with their CCI LP Gas detector? Ours gave what I think is a false alarm at about 3am twice so far in the past three days. Yet when we're here all day with no windows open etc. everything is okay.

Yes! After we had owned our 06 Inspire, and we are the original owners, ours started piping up often, perfume, hair spray, or nothing at all. It was suggested by CC tech on the phone to replace it as they go bad sometimes. We did, and 3 years later, we're still fine.

Mine did that too, nearly had a heart attack. I pulled the unit out, tried blowing air through it, vacuumed it (fairly weak vacuum) and it did it again, so I disconnected it and put in a stand alone battery type.
I may replace it someday if I am in a store that has them. False alarms in the middle of the night is no way to sell products.

I asked Carl if he had pets in the coach. It has been known to happen if a pet, err let me be politically correct here, passes gas within range of the detector it may be what set it off... but if no pet... maybe not so. I know hair spray, spray deodorizer and some other stuff will set them off as well.

Would you think that a German dog such as a Schnauzer would cause this problem more than an Irish dog such as an Irish Setter? The Germans eat more bratwurst and sauerkraut.

Glad to hear it's not just me. I occasionally walk by the garage door and hear the LP detector screeching it's head off. For a quick solution, I installed a push button on-off switch so I could turn it on when we are in the coach, but turn it off when we are home. Still don't know why it was going off when there is no activity, but now see that these devices apparantly do go bad, so will now replace it.

When we first got our rig (06 allure) it woudl go off anytime we had vegetables in the trash overnight...not fun @ 2 AM.
Was replaced under warranty as it was too sensitive. Since replacement no problems with false alarms.

For those interested in my diet on the nights in question; no beans. Our dog a Dachshund may have had wurst and beer that night and she's very close to the floor although 10 feet away from the detector. I'll have to ask her what she ate...

Seriously, I've ordered a new detector as this one seems to be bad.
