Electrical problem

Yahoo Message Number: 48137
Coach is currently parked and plugged into 50 amp. After being gone for several hours returned to find no AC power to the D/S AC LR outlets, P/S entertainment cabinet and satellite power box. Checked all breakers, (reset D/S LR breaker) and could find only 1 GFIC receptacle in the D/S galley to reset. Also checked the exterior chassis breakers and inverter. Still no power to the above listed outlets.

Any suggestions for other diagnostics? Thanks Ron Halvorson

Do those outlets work with AC power off and the inverter on? If so, transfer relay in inverter is hanging. If not, get out your voltmeter and start checking, You can do this starting at either the source or load. For example start at the AC breaker to your inverter and go down the line. Could be a prob in the inverter or a bad GFI. Guess is could be a bad connection but that's rare. Good luck!

So, other outlets are working? What is working on the 110v side?

Hi Ron,

Check to see if the outlets are working with the genset on. If so you have a problem with the power transfer switch.

Thanks for the feedback. First source of the electrical problem narrowed down to a faulty Aqua Hot electric element causing the GFI breaker to trip. Until I receive the new Aqua Hot element, leaving the breaker off has prevented further GFI problems and allowed electric power to all the AC outlets. Despite having power restored to the AC outlets, the remaining mystery was the absence of AC power to the P/S front entertainment component cabinets. This problem was a defective power strip device that connected all the components.
