Bob Lee - What Men Want

Hi Bob,

Need some ideas to make CC even better. Here are a few:

1. While I don't usually drive at night, when I do, I would like to see where I'm going. How about HID/Xenon headlights and real fog lights.

2. Ever thought about moving the locking mechanisms on the door to the wall frame? No more broken wires, dirty contacts, etc. Oh, and don't forget the access panel.

3. Power is everything. Hate to rely on a cheap switch/relay/sensor to ensure both the House and Chassis batteries are charging. How about a HD alternator with solid state battery isolator to charge both banks while underway. The inverter charges the House bank when plugged in. Dump the Echo Charger and similar devices and just give me a separate 10-20A charger to keep the Chassis batteries topped off.

4. Second on the full sun visor. I like the MCD full length sun screen.

5. If I need to check it, maintain it, or view it, don't make me empty a basement storage bin, undo an access panel, and crawl in sideways to get to it.

6. Is there some reason the switches I don't need while driving are right under my fingers but I need to reach for the engine brake switch?
7. No, I can't carry too much diesel. I like bigger tanks.

8. Sometimes I slam the basement doors. The plastic latches just can't handle that.

9. I like the bigger TV's. Hate looking sideways from the couch or hitting my head climbing the front stairs. Find a better place for this.

10. Why does my $$$ coach have a lawn mower ignition key?
11. Coat the roof with something (Bus Kote, etc.) Hate the bare fiberglass.

12. Put a rain gutter above the windshield so I don't have to.

Love mine and would only trade it for another CC.

Great post.

#6 is an easy fix, the switches just plug in. You will have to move all three but it is real easy. . Moved the brake to the bottom row and put a felt pad on it so I can feel the right one without looking. It will take more time to take everything apart to get to the pugs than to make the fix.

I think a link to your prduct here might have sufficed rather than a rambling multi-page sales pitch cut-and-pasted from you sales literature. IMHO, this is a forum of CC users, not prospective sales targets.

I'm not sure this is something you'd want in your MoHo. These are nothing more then a split window unit. I know cause I have two installed on my cottage in my back yard. The indoor wall mounted evaporator unit is larger then you'd want inside a MoHo. Maybe you'd like a basement RV HVAC unit better then roof mounted units. With these units all the guts are packaged in a insulated box within a basement storage compartment. So the fans/compressors (they use 2) are outside and under the interior floor. Biggest problem with these units is where the RV manufactures choose to install them. Passenger rear corner storage compartment. Yep, right under ones bedroom. But the up side? Really the only noise is from supply air (ceiling) running through duct work. Return air grills are most likely installed under bed or closet area. Added plus? These units use a residential air filter, a big plus in my world.
Never smart to run an HVAC unit via an inverter due to the huge battery banks needed to power them. Truckers are now able to run a rather small (3K BTU) A/C unit via "smart" inverter. But really given the area they are trying to cool is nothing more then a twin size bed (sleeping cab) with the supply outlet blowing right on them. These units are knock-offs of the Cruise-Air units used in marine (water to water) and Bus conversions (air to air) applications. I had them (four 16K units) on my houseboat and they worked good due to dumping waste heat into cool water and grabbing heat from a more constant water temp of over 45*. I have a few friends with these (air to air) on their buses. They don't do a great job due to the huge heat loads of darker colored units and poor design of ducting (one large supply vent so you get rather drafty cooling and heating) from each unit (buses have up to 4 of these HVAC units onboard) Just my 2 cents on MoHo HVAC systems.

We had a domestic slit system in our bus conversion. It was great with the only noise the sound of cool or hot air wafting past. Properly located they are the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. Our current roof airs require the television to be turned up quite a bit. Don't like them at all. We simply put the rear one on and leave it on.

My votes is for split systems.

Sorry for the rambling, I ment to pick pieces and my cold fingers sliped. I am not selling anything.
They alrady have evaperators in an enclosed wide and skinny duct that could be use in RVs overhead, without the exposed wall unit. In addition to the wide slow fans in the evaperators, the variable speed compressor is the cats meow. Old styled a/c is either blowing or not. With the variable speed compressor, all things go slower togather, and - quitely. Another benefit is that the air is always circulating - quitely.

Now that some of us check email with IPhones and such it is so frustrating to read the digest when people include the entire previous messages. I think it was 3 responses that not only included the entire a/c info that this person objected to but they also included this person's objection. It really is just a matter of getting in the habit of trimming. And yes I know I could just delete but when you get digest you can't move on to the next email until you get past the previous email. And I know it's the moderator's job to send these type of emails I'm just frustrated right now because the a/c literature was so long and then it was repeated several more times.
