Sliding closet door latch...

We need to replace one of the sliding door latches on the mirrored sliders for the rear closet. Does anyone know the source used by CC or a quality replacement?

Have replaced them twice, they are a joke.

We go two small adjustable curtin rods, work great.

Gerry, Sorry, don't have part numbers but will tell you that the latches come as two parts, the latch and the housing sold as a kit. The original latches are very flimsy as almost every CC owners knows! The last replacements that I purchased two years ago in Albany were of similar design but 'beefed up' with more plastic. So far, these stronger latches are holding up.
We did travel for quite a time with a broken latch and to prevent the door sliding open on abrupt turns I cut two lengths of schedule 49 PVC and placed them in the bottom tracks when the closet doors were closed.
As a routine we still place the PVC in the tracks before departure even with the new latches.

Gerry I recently replaced the latch on the closet door on our 2006 magna I got the replacement from camping world in Knoxville, Tn. I don't know but I think it is a common part.

Gerry I found that the adjustment on those sliding doors was off and that was what was breaking the latch if you will adjust the doors properly the latches will work fine. The ajustment on our coach is at the bottom I've seen some that are on top.

We are in the process of finalizing the sale of our 2003 Intrigue. Since the interior door latches break so often, I have a large quantity of extra door latches in my spare parts bag that the new owner has chosen not to include in the deal. I will be selling my inventory of Fleetguard, Allison, and Onan filters, a spare Splendide water pump (the most frequent part to break on the Splendide washer), 5 gallons of Allison Transynd transmission fluid, spare screen door latch handles and many more hard-to-find Country Coach extra parts after March 15.

We have one of those 'glass case locking mechanisms' you see in stores. We lock it before we leave and works well.

Just in case you need more info this might help if this is the catch Grabber Catch , this is a Southco product. They come in different pound ratings and in black or white.
They also have this style catch that has a switch contact in it that can be used for turning things on and off when needed, usually through a relay as the switch won't handle much current. Kind of handy for some applications.

We replaced our broken plastic slider catches with the larger ones rated at a higher poundage - breakage solved but now they are a b---- to open. Also tried adding additional catches, such as two instead of one. This also works and things are a bit easier to open than one biggie.
Pieces of plastic pipe/wood in the tracks always works if a tad tacky.
You should have seen the absolute junk National supplied in our 2002 Tradewinds. Totally useless "U" shaped plastic clamps that wouldn't hold a medicine cabinet door much less a closet slider.
The way virtually all coach manufacturers use inexpensive things like latches to differentiate lesser versus more expensive models is rediculous. At a few bucks each there is no excuse for inadequate retention means. We had drawers that flew open when braking as well as the slider latch problems.
All fixed now but - again - no excuse to supply aggravating junk unless you are willing to spend another $250,000 - or more!
