surge protection

Yahoo Message Number: 56863
Greetings,

I posted a question about installing a propane oven a few weeks ago and the responses led me to a former CC tech in Oregon named Kevin Waite with whom my wife and I have been communicating, so thanks so much.
We do not presently own a coach but will be buying one very soon. We're already planning our upgrades. Yikes.
My question now is about surge protection. It seems most coaches have a whole-coach surge protection set-up and built in by the factory. Would it be feasible, redundant, a waste of money, or perhaps wise to also have a portable surge protection unit that plugs in at the campground 50 amp post into which you would connect the 50 amp power cord? Are 2 surge protectors overkill?

Thanks in advance to furthering my education.

It would be redundant.
