Tire size ?

Looking to replace my 2004 date code rear tires. We have Michelin XZEs in the 10R size. We would like to shop the Goodyear G670s. THe Goodyears do not come in the 10R size...the question is what size do we switch too?
We have 7.5 wide rims in the rear and the Goodyear 275 80R 22.5 match closely in all dimensions to the 10R except that they are wider...the Goodyear website doesnt list dual spacing information. My main concern is going too wide for my coach. Has anyone put this size on the rear?
We had the recall done on the front and have the 8.25 x 22.5 rims in front with 275 80 R 22.5 tires.

Any assistance and information would be appreciated.

THe main reason I am looking at the Goodyears is that it appears that they have a higher load rating. Nothing against the Michelins. I would like to have the extra safety margin.

Sandy, in reviewing the Michelin spec's I find their XZE 275-80R is 40.2" diameter X 11.1" width and will fit a 7 1/2" Rim. Load Rating is "H" Single @ 120PSI is 7160 and Dual is 6610. Your Michelin 10R's are 40.2" diameter X 11.1 width.

On the Goodyear web the G670 275-80R requires an 8.25"
I switched from Toyo's about 1 1/2 yrs ago to Michelin XZE 12R 22.5 and so far very happy.

Sandy, the Goodyear G670s on the rear would be fine but they wear poorly on the steer axle, both from personal experience and from what I've read from other users. IMHO, the best solution is Michelin's on the front, Goodyear 670s on the rear.

Remember to watch the DOT age of the new tires you get regardless of brand. We have an Inspire with the G670's and they have been fine for us. We are looking to replace due to time and in checking with a highly recommended tire guy here we were warned to watch the DOT age on the Goodyears out there. He said it is not unusual to receive tires from the distributor that are already 2 years old - that's a problem for us RV folks who don't wear them out. He said Michelin controls inventory better and are usually pretty fresh.

We have the Goodyear G670 275/80R 22.5 on all six wheels and love them. They are 4 years old and show no signs of uneven wear. We like the ride but have nothing to compare them too since they came with our coach which was purchased used. Receipt shows they were purchased from Bob Dickman in Junction City.
