305XX CCO Sub Group

Yahoo Message Number: 4426
Hi Folks,

While attending the Pomona pre-ralley in Las Vegas held at Circus Circus 14-18 March 2003, one of the suggestions which had favorable attendee response was for coach owners to have mini-group meetings scheduled before and after the regular seminar sessions. These subgroup meetings would be for owners of same year coaches to sort out solutions to on- going problems and how problems were fixed. I would like to float an idea that the 305XX owners form an email group as a first step. From reading CCO group messages, ever year provides for a enique set of problems as CCI introduces new components from entry doors, inverters, batteries, engines, heaters, etc. All owners could form subgroups and a general summary meeting could be also scheduled with FMCA. What do you think?

Sure, count me in. However, while I also have a 2000 Allure mine is 30493...Just wish to mention that so arbitrary cut off numbers are not used. I would assume going by the model year would be best. Mike 2000 Allure 30493

I think it is a good idea. However, how do you draw the boundies? There are many systems that carry over from one model to another and spand many model years. I am a frequent user of this and several other RV forums on Yahoo. I am also on iRV2.com as alias 'Roadrunner'. Since I do not participate in the forums using the email mode, I like the iRV2.com forum format better than Yahoo Groups. There are no pop-up ads that are a PIA.

I was recently at a show that iRV2.com had a booth at and talked to one of the administrators and creators there. I asked them what it would take to start a Country Coach specific forum on that site.
They said just a phone call or email. Just need someone to be moderator. Of course, I do not want to take away from this Yahoo Groups forum if the majority wants to stay here. We don't need to splinter the information and discussion that benefits and entertains us all.

For my money (even though I don't pay any) I think the iRV2.com is a much better system than Yahoo. It's has a clean, easy to read face with an easy to follow thread format.
What would stop me form wanting to see our forum move is the email feature of Yahoo. I much prefer being able to get my email... like at a campground, etc., and read it offline.

As a lurker on this site, researching which rig to purchase next :-) and also part of Winnebago, Foretravel, Newmar, Diesel Pushers and IRV2, (I really need to get a life) I like the convenience of e-mail from Yahoo. No I don't enjoy the pop-ups, but the option of choosing how to receive and the ease of browsing my e mails through Yahoo groups is a plus. I get about 30-50/day, not including RV related stuff so I only log on to IRV once or twice a week and I would miss my "fix" if I couldn't browse topics daily as I quickly review my e-mails.
One of our Winnebago Yahoo groups moved to IRV and I miss chatting with them, since I rarely post, just read weekly.
So please go ahead and add CC to IRV2, but I hope this group stays active. Who knows maybe within the year I might join y'all at a CC rally in my new rig :-) Looking at the 03 Allure and can't wait to see CCs new offering this summer, that's supposed to be significantly less than Allure, but have same platform, probably smaller engine. Damon- when is info going to be released?

The new Inspire will be released in April. If the new proto is finished in time it will be driven down to the Pomona rally this week. As one of the Country Coach dealers, I already have information on the Inspire. The coach will be equipped with a Cummins 350hp engine. The new offering looks very good and should be a very popular seller.

Steve,

I was out at the Pomona FMCA RV Rally yesterday and CC had a prototype of their new entry level coach at the show; it was called "Inspire". It was a 40' sticker priced at $232,000 with a lot of options. It also had 3 slides, 350 hp engine, modified Dynamax chassis, and pretty much looked like an allure. One thing different was the 85" floor to ceiling height. CC is trying to create a more open feel inside the coach when all the slides are out and high ceilings. It didn't do anything for me and I would prefer lower ceilings. When looking at the coach from the outside, it appeared taller than the other coaches (which it is).
Besides the ceiling height, everything looked good to me except for notable exception. CC is using smaller tires on these models. I am concerned this model will not ride as well as the CC's with the bigger tires. I think I recall a discussion about tire size on this forum because CC use to use smaller tires in the past. Someone on the forum will have to jump in here and jog my memory on small tires.
I think CC is on the right track trying to build a more afforable coach and I will be taking a close look at in later in the year. They said the first ones will be available at the end of April.

Rick,  the high ceilings wouldn't be high on my list but with good reason.  I am now about 5' 7" tall and my wife is even less.

These days the average male seems to be at least 5' 10" (American/Europeans?) and growing taller by the decade.  I imagine a lot of the younger generation will welcome taller ceilings.

Thanks Rick for the up date, I'll take a close look at the Inspire this summer, but think the Allure may be more suited to our needs.

-Hi Dale,

The suggestions so far have centered around subgroups by years and by groupings - Intigues and Allures being one. The real advancement in thinking is to have subgroups at ralleys where good discussions can take place. For a start, all of us might consider posting a list of discussion items by year and model.

Fred's ideas are great. Who at CC will organize it? Perhaps it is something the club secretary should be instructed to do. Nice meeting Fred and am looking forward to the forums.
