Radiator Problems - 2005 Inspire - Aluminum

I have 2005 Inspire with a leaky radiator. Is it best to replace it or repair the radiator?? Looking at some of the postings I see others have had issues with the aluminum radiator. Any advice / stories / techinical expertise would be helpful. We live in Scottsdale and store our RV in Phoenix.

The rediator shop told me mine was not repairable. But be careful where you get a new one as the orginal manf will make one as he did for me, but it is big bucks. Previous posts from last year had people getting them replaced in CA for 3 to 4 K. Mine was 8K.

Thanks for your response. We got an estimate for abt 4K for a copper installed. I have a Good Sam policy and I think they will cover 50% claiming it is repairable and thats only if they determine that a road stone did not do the damage. The radiator has to be pulled first and then inspected by Good Sam before repair

Replace it with the heaviest duty/largest trans cooling copper/steel one that you can. When we had ours start to leak we were able to limp along until we were able to get to OMCC (Oregon Motor Coach Center) in Eugene, OR. When they pulled out the old one to see if it was repairable it was leaking from the seams on both sides!
Since putting in the new radiator our transmission is now running a lot cooler and generally stays below 210...before it would regularly be in the 220's.
FYI -- we limped along by replacing the cap on the expansion tank with a 7PSI (rather than the original 15PSI) and regularly topped off with fluid. That got us by for 2 months and abotu 3,000 miles on our '06 Allure.
