Bus-Kote supplies

We just got our coach back from having the Hy-Tech roof coating system applied. I have some materials left over, unopened.
1 Gallon of the SR#1220 Bond-It clear acrylic bonding agent - this the primer/sealer.
1 Gallon of the Flexi-Clear elastomeric clear sealer and finish - this is the top coat that goes over the paint which is the Bus-Kote product. I do NOT have any of the Bus-Kote left over. FWIW the company's estimates of coveage are conservative which is why I have some left over. If you have a ~36 foot coach and or lots of stuff on the roof all you would probably need is one gallon of Bus-Kote.
The Bond-It lists for $25.50 plus tax/shipping, the Flexi-Clear sells for $39.95 plus the usual.
I don't have the time to try and sell this for half or any amount plus pack and ship it so the first one to claim it can have it for free contingent on you need to come and get it. If interested please contact me personally off the list.
There is also some sealing tape and 2-3 tubes of the CC recommended roofing caulk but it is getting old - still free. Come get it.

I have just had two coats of Bustkoke applied to the roof of my RV. We are currently in Oregon having gone thru some really hot areas and this coat as dropped the tempeture in our motor home by at least 15 degrees. The best example is when you are driving in 100 plus degree climate and are in the cab with the dash air on you are OK. But, when you are stoped and go to the back of the motor home you are walking into an oven. This no longer is the case. The Buskote on the roof and on the sky lights I have removed the actual heater from the coach on hot days. Applying Buskote is the beast move I have done to make the travel in the RV a pleasure.

Ok, either I posted a test to see who noticed or reaching 70 really has affected my brain.
Anyone interested in the Bus-Kote roof painting system supplies would probably like to know that we are located in central FL, Lake County between Clermont and Leesburg. It is also NW of Orlando and NE of Tampa just about cener of the state.

I can't answer for Stan but as I just had the work done I'll chime in.
These products (from Hy-Tech Thermal Solutions, LLC the manufacturer) are water based and not that heavy. The insulating material is spaceage micro spheres that are hollow and microscopically thin so nearly weightless - same stuff as used on the space shuttle tiles. I doubt added weight to the coach before drying was very much over 30 lbs based on the left over materials I have in my possession.
The insulating micro-spheres can be added to any standard paint product according to the manufacturer - check out their website there is a ton of information. They did some tests showing dramatic temperature drops after application to roof and then interior walls of a building. The clear coat they sell also includes UV reflectors to slow down deterioration. It can be applied with a brush, roller to sprayed.
Could be amazing stuff although I am at a loss to explain how it could reduce heat soak into the rear of the coach from the drive train after a day of driving as Stan experienced. The insulating material is on the roof and the drive train heat is coming from below.
I put it on my coach because after 6 years the white runoff from the roof was getting to be a problem. The materials and installation costs are relatively low; less than $300 in materials, the painting pro who put it on charged me for 10 hours labor for everything - pressure washing, caulking work, application of the three products - primer/sealer, BusKote and clear coat. He only charged me $25/hour so I have just over $500 total cost. I was charged well over half (I recall something like $375) by an RV service center to slop (I use the term advisedly) a gallon of Protect-all all over the roof and sides of my coach just once.
The roof surface is now a mottled finish and not glassy smooth like the original gel-coat. It is water repellent so probably safer to move around on than before.
The company guarantees BusKote alone for 5 years. Adding clear coat with additional protection against UV should boost that but it is not guaranteed by the company.
IMHO this beats the living heck out of products that require re-application every 3 or so months or automotive style painting which is thousands. I am hoping going the whole route I will get much more than 5 years.
I won't say I am a believer yet, not enough time or experience. But I can say I am very happy with the appearance of the result, the reputation of the company and the products based on my research and I expect to be a happy camper for some time not worrying about the roof surface breakdown, white streaks, tough washing jobs and application after application of "protectant" solutions, floor wax and the like. (Sorry for the happy camper groaner.)

I found the heat from the drive train to be minimal compared to the light/heat coming thru the three plastic vents. This created the green house effect like a hot house. The heat coming from the skylight in the bathroom was like a furnace, and the other vents also added heat. I wrote the manufacture and asked if I could paint the vents and not cause cracking because of heat absorption The Tech replied and indicated it would be no problem because about 97 per cent of the light is reflected. I am extremely pleased with the results, of the reflective sealant on the roof and on the skylight/vents. I have no second thoughts.

Bob: Thanks for the informative reply. As you probably figured out, I was concerned about applying a heavy product, adding hundreds of pounds to the coach.
If it's really good, maybe it can go on the micro-cracked parts too!! (just kidding)
