Heater circulation pump

The heater circulation pump on my 04 Intrigue started leaking coolant. Upon obtaining the manufacturer and part number from the pump I called MP Pump Inc. in Troy, Michigan to obtain a new one. Without telling them the application I merely said that I needed a new pump and gave them the part number. The parts rep immediately said, "Oh, is this on a Country Coach?" There must be a message in here somewhere! Lyle Wetherholt

If the leak is the only problem with your pump MP will send you a seal kit. I am pretty sure that your pump is called the school bus pump because that is where the majority of those pumps are used.
When I needed seal the dealers where not the least bit helpful. I complained to MP Troy and they gave me 2 seal kits. I hope you have good luck.

I too have a need to replace our MP pump (P/N:28985) as it is probably the source of trouble for blowing fuses in 2 circuits. If I have done my homework correctly, there is a circuit that turns on the pump through the ignition switch to circulate the coolant when the engine is running, and another circuit that is activated when the Furnace asks for heat from the Webasto.
Every time I turn on the ignition, it blows that fuse; every time I call for heat from the furnace, it blows that fuse. We jumped the circuit at the Webasto to get the pump to run and it made an awful sound for several seconds before finally running more smoothly (quietly).
No leaks. I'm assuming a bad pump. Love to hear about good sources/prices.

Replaced the heater circulation pump yesterday at 71710 miles.
MP Pump part #28985 superseded to #29924. Source; Master Pumps & Power, Dallas, TX. Cost; $262.81 with freight and handling charges. Disassembled the old pump and would not recommend trying to just replace the seals (if a kit were available).

Have rebuilt two, seals in both and bearings in one. The one with bearings was not an easy rebuild. Rusty in and out. Sand blast it to clean and repaint. Not a job for everyone, but can be done if one has the skills.

Thanks Lyle for the info. I see they have distributors all over the country including Tulsa, Ok. where Im located. I've thought about changing all three as my coach is going on 11 years old.

Am in process of changing one of mine, located in the engine compartment, and feeding the front pax side heater. Bad leak occurred @120,000 miles. Find this pump on my '01 Intrigue with Cummins engine and is circuit # 164 on fuse box under driver side dash. There is no reason for this to run all the time and am putting a switch on the fuse for this circuit so I can turn it on only when I want hot air from the furnace. My owners manual circuit diagram shows a CC part number and talking with PM Pumps they claim all pumps CC used for coolant purposes were the same. Will not know what the part number is until I get the old one off next week (we bypassed the pump at the engine block) or get the new one from MP

M, i have a question: First you refer to the pump that serves the pax side heater. i assume u mean the otr dash heater? Then u talk about the furnace heater. I assumed that the pumps that serve the otr heater are separate from the hurricane circ pumps? do the same pumps serve both?

After two on the road coolant loss incidents with my rear mounted pump, I just removed it from the system. We still get adequate dash heat and heated water during our travels in temps 40 degrees or higher.
The front pump behind the passenger side bumper is still mounted and working.

I agree with Dean. That pump seems to be superfluous. The old one went into the trash.
BTW, Bill, I am assuming that you are talking about the so called "school bus" pump that is mounted in the engine compartment.
