Dash Squirrel Cage Motor

Hi Coach Owners,

The dash air motor is starting to squeak and will only run on high.
Removal of the assembly (takes about 3 hours) and an inspection indicates the bearings are squeaking. The motor is a FASCO 2809 550 018.
Googling doesn't provide much and I have a request into Emotors but their web site doesn't show anything close.
I would appreciate it if anyone has had this failure and what the remedy was.

I just went though the replacing of the squirrel cage motor on the dash air. I used OMC in Eugene. Sorry to say but the squirrel cage motor mounts are no longer available.

Ed and crew were able to salvage parts from some newer unist of the design and put mine back together. Hope you have better luck finding new supply for the squirrel cage mounts.

Hi Fred - I had to remove mine last year for the same reason. I guess 10 years is about the limit for lube on those little bronze bushings. Like you, I did not find a replacement motor either. I searched and searched with no success. Finally I bit the bullet and dug into it by myself. Lots of work! Just set 10 or 12 hours aside and go for it. My hips, elbows, and shoulders were sore afterwords. It probably had something to do with my age Ha! Ha! When I got mine out I was able to lubricate the bushings using a hypodermic needle for an oil applicator. I applied three drops of 5W20 synthetic motor oil on each bushing and allowed it to set for an hour or so. Then I applied three more drops again. The reason I did it this way is because there are tiny oil reservoirs at each bushing with felt oil pads inside. It takes some time for the felt pads to soak up the oil.
The fan is very quiet now. Let's hope it lasts a while.
Now the fan on my Honda towed is starting to squeal during freezing temperatures. But it's much easier to get to. Which reminds me, cold weather is not too far away.

My dash blower motors look like the second and third pictures (030-00120 and 030-00121).
If these look familiar, I think I have contact information for the Canadian mfg, who may have another distributor in the USA.
