Aqua Hot Question

Came back to the Coach and my wife went to shower and no hot water. I have a 07 Magna with the Aqua Hot system. Outside in the Bay the panel shows a red light at the top next to LOW TANK LEVEL CUTOFF. If this refers to the pink coolant the overflow tank is half full and appears fine. Any Ideas. Tried calling Aqua hot but they have already closed.

Hi John.

Try opening the 'radiator cap' and see if there is any fluid in the tank.
This is what I understand the red light is indicating.

The overflow tank is not necessarily an indicator that the Aquahot had adequate coolant. You need to remove the radiator cap on the top of the unit to check the actual level in the unit itself. It should be full to the top. If not you can top it off with distilled water as a temp solution. Do NOT use the potable antifreeze commonly called pink stuff. The antifreeze in the AquaHot is boiler antifreeze and may be pink but is not the same.
If after assuring the unit is full does not do the trick then you could have a faulty low level sensor. It can be temporarily shorted but at that point I recommend that you try the Hydronic Heat Group on Yahoo for further troubleshooting. Roger Berke the owner is an AquaHot Tech and very helpful.

Check your float level cut off switch, if your coolant tank is full this is a likely culprit.

More than likely you have a faulty level sensor. I've had two go bad and keep a jumper wire in the Hydro-Hot compartment for that reason. Here are the diagnostics from the Hydro-Hot manual aka Aqua-Hot 450 DE

Verify the functionality of the fluid-level sensor by completing the following:

A. Remove the faceplate from the electronic controller.
B. Install a jumper wire on the JP3 plug, between pins 15 and 16 (between "LWCO-I" and "LWCO-O") on the electronic controller in order to bypass the fluid-level sensor.

If the "Low Tank-Level Cutoff" indicator light on the electronic controller extinguishes when the jumper wire is installed, inspect the wire harness for damaged or severed wires. If no wires are found to be damaged or severed, follow the instructions in this section to replace the fluid-level sensor.
If, however, the "Low Tank-Level Cutoff" indicator light continues to illuminate once the jumper wire is installed, follow the instructions in this manual to replace the electronic controller.
