Bathroom Faucets

Yahoo Message Number: 62899
We have a 05 Inspire 40' DaVinci model coach and can't figure out what brand of bathroom faucets we have. I'd like to replace the handles because the design is so useless when your hands are soapy. Does anybody know who makes them ? Are they "Elements of Design" ?

Teresa,

I'm so glad you wrote about this. We have an 06 Inspire DaVinci model also, and have the same faucets which are hard to turn with soapy hands! I took a picture of them and sent the picture to Moen. A helpful fellow there tried ti see if they are Moen faucets, but they are not. I too hope someone writes with the information.

Mary,

Not sure why you are concerned with replacing the faucets with the same brand. There are likely many faucets that will fit the sink. CC tended to use household plumping fixtures. Just remove the faucet and pick one up that is configured for the same hole spacing as your sink. It may have only one center hole but that is also a standard. Unless your coach has special fixtures Lowes, Home Depot or a plumbing supply outlet should offer a wide selection.
Most sinks have threaded nut/s or ring that is difficult to reach under sink. There is a faucet wrench specially designed to do the job. It is a set of curved jaws with teeth that is hinged on the end of a long handle. Flip the jaws one way to tighten and the other way to loosen. The tool is not expensive and a handy thing to have around when you need it.

Don,

You caught me! I was hoping to not have to replace the whole faucets but rather just the handles -- yes, lazy indeed! Thanks so much for the excellent descriptions of the ease of doing this. My husband is more of a gear head than a plumber, but you did make it sound quite easy for me to attempt too! Thanks again.

PS I would have responded to Don directly, but his email does not show in the way iin which I receive it.

Yes it is easy to replace the faucet, but the faucet isn't the problem, it's the handles only. I've done several replacements with rental houses but why should we have to, hopefully someone knows the answer and we can buy different handles. It isn't your typical brand, the sprine is very very fine (many teeth)unlike others.
I've been to Home Depot and they don't carry the brand the coach has, hopefully someone can solve the mystery.

Teresa,

I am now at my daughters house and 160 miles from the coach but I just took the aerator of her bathroom faucet and it has Moen imprinted on it. Not sure it your faucet has a screw in aerator or if they all do it like Moen but have you tried that?

Teresa,

Thanks for the picture. Worth a thousand words as they say. That is a very different faucet. Certainly not the image that I had in mind. I spent a couple of hours searching Elements of Design, Moen, Delta, Kohler, and American Standard and nothing even close. I can't say that I have ever seen one like it not that that means anything.
If no owner knows who made it then you might try one of the ex-CC techs that watch the group to research it for you I wonder if you do find it if you will be able to buy just the different handles alone. The faucet look fairly expensive. However I can see how working them with soapy hand would be a problem.
In the picture there appears to be an aerator on the faucet end. I assume you checked and there is nothing stamped into it. Also are there no tags or stickers on the faucet underneath the sink? Well I expect you have been through all that.

Best of luck with it.

We have a '07 Magna and had to replace the bathroom faucets and they were Price Pfisters - we went ahead and replace the whole unit and it was an easy job. Hope this helps.

Teresa:

I believe this was the supplier. http://www.phoenixfaucets.com/
As of a year or so ago the same bathroom faucet as in our '05 Inspire was still in their catalog but in white only and not the brushed silver finish. Now that one is gone as well. They still show the kitchen faucet in white.
You will note on their wepage they claim to have supplied many RV manufacturers. They sell replacement parts so may have handles of the type you are looking for that will fit.

As CC used many sppliers no gurarantees.

I believe you are correct on the kitchen faucets, but we have given in and purchased new faucets for the kitchen and bathroom sinks. The hassle became too much. I went to Keller supply and they had no idea who made the bathroom one so if they don't know, I don't know who would. I did see a SA on the back side of it so I will continue to research via the internet. The replacement job was easy even for me with a little help from the hubby ! Rod and Teresa Robbins
