Surge Protectors

Do folks feel there a need to use in-line surge protectors when hooking up to a 50 or 30 amp power? We have never had a problem, but I want to be careful. I have seen the portable surge protectors by Technology Reserarch Corporation at Camping World and was wondering if that is a good unit or if anyone has experience with other products.

Rick, I would think your coach came from the factory with an in-line surge protector. No, you should not assume 30 or 50 amp power is safe. It could be wired in wrong. Been there done that!
If your set-up is like mine, look in the bay where the house batteries are located. My surge protector is mounted in the same space as the inverter, just above the batteries, behind a metal cover plate. You should also read up on its function in you owner's manual.

Thought maybe someone with a newer Magna would answer this for you Rick... But, since they haven't, here is my two cents worth...
I think Country Coach installed a surge protector when your coach was built... Can't imagine them building a "high dollar" coach without one...It should be "upstream" from your transfer switch... If not, I suggest you get one ASAP...
