We have been notified of a recall of Garmin GPS units, see below.

Jim 07 Allure #31570

We have recently learned that Garmin, in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), is voluntarily recalling certain Nuvi Portable Automotive GPS Products. Our records indicate that you have purchased one of the GPS Products listed in this recall through the Amazon.com website.
The recall involves: Nuvi 200W, 250W, 260W and Nuvi 7xx (where xx is a two-digit number)
These portable automotive GPS products were sold for use as aftermarket equipment and were also sold and installed as original equipment in certain passenger vehicles. These units contain third-party Lithium-Ion batteries manufactured in a certain date range. In rare circumstances the batteries contained in the affected GPS units can overheat.
Owners may contact Garmin's Nuvi Battery Recall Information Line at 1-866-957-1981. Determine your Nuvi model number by looking at the label on the back or bottom of your Nuvi. You must provide this and other information to determine whether your Nuvi is affected by this recall. To easily and quickly determine whether your Nuvi is affected, go to www.garmin.com/nuvibatterypcbrecall
