Leveling system pops and the coach lurches

Yahoo Message Number: 64316
I just bought a 2004 Intrigue 42' Ovation and after it has been leveled for a while (1 to 6 hours) the suspension will "pop" and the coach will move slightly as if settling. Otherwise it automatically levels just fine. Any input would be just appreciated.

probably your brakes making the noise.....after leveling, release your parking brake, let settle, then re apply...

Dale, my HWH system automatically "re-levels" every so often and when it does, it causes the popping sound you describe. I think some systems lose some air while sitting, and this feature re-levels the coach. I can turn this feature off by pressing my emergency stop button on my control panel.

I had the same problem on my 04' Allure and it finaaly boomed and all the air went out of the system The HWH computor shorted out. Thank God the HWH was still under warrenty in late 'o6.

My Intrigue has always done this. When you level and the lights go off, push the stop button and it will not continue to re-level.

Dale, I would agree with Luther that your "problem" is just the brakes. I talked to CC early on with our coach and they told me it was most likely the tag axle brakes. You are most likely parked on asphalt or concrete. Ours doesn't to that as much when parked on gravel or dirt. I haven't tried Luther's approach but it might work. Generally I don't worry about it.

Thanks to the many responses to my inquiry. It appears it could be:

1. Loose or damaged shocks.
2. Sticktion in the parking brake.
3. HWH computer problem.

I will let all of you know when the issue either gets resolved or we accept the foibles of the system.

Thanks,

Dale,

This sound is normal per CC. It sounds awful but it is produced by the air bags as they are collapsing and expanding to re-level. Mine has always done it. Over a period of days you may be losing a teeny bit of air and it relevels. Also, the sun on one side of the coach can cause relevel as well as air bags expand. Not to worry.
