Motosat upgrades

Yahoo Message Number: 64378

To all Motosat users, there are new upgrades available to help Nomad 2, and SD2 controllers find the satellite faster.
Nomad 2 is now up to 40.3, and for those of you with the newer SD2 controller, they now have version 112 available. See (www.motosat.com) for those upgrades. These work especially good for those who travel the Northern part of the USA. Also works well for Canadian Bell users.

Hope this will help someone,

Thanks so much, I was wondering if MotoSat would inform us of updates - I haven't received anything from them - so this is fantastic. Pat Shirley, 07 Magna 6503

Dale: How do I update my Motosat 2? I have never done an update but don't have much trouble dialing in the sat. Sometimes it takes longer than others but always works.

Basically it is a return to last known elevation that they had always used, but somehow got dropped along the way. When up north, if you had moved from last known location, it would begin to search way too high in the sky, and take about 5 minutes to find any satellites. With this upgrade, and exec. will now lock on to something 1st time around, instead of about 5 times around. If anyone is running GPS, they would not need the upgrade.

It can be done two ways, one way you will need an update module, available from motosat, or a computer, and special cable and then follow directions in the manual listed on line. Most good dealers will have an upgrade module with them at all times, and may be your best bet. When you say Motosat 2, not sure what you have, there is a Nomad 2, and an SD-2, and earlier years was and Exec. 2. The module refered to above would be for Nomad 2, and SD-2 can be done with a card reader on a computer, and the software taken from Motosat.com. There is a Version 113 for the SD-2, but only positioners built after Sept. 30, 2010 will need it.
A call to their service techs will be of some help hopefully.

I travel lots, and a location is handy, cause I might be going right by you anytime.

The instructions about version 113 being applicable only to positioners built after Sept. 30, 2010 is misleading- not by Dale Morris, but by Motosat. What they really meant to say was something to the effect that 113 is applicable only to those built after Sept 30th IF THEY HAVE VERSION 112 INSTALLED. In my conversation with the tech rep, he said the instructions were very poor and that you should install v.113 if you have the SD-2 positioner.

I hope to have attached an email from Motosat Operations Manager, Stating no need to download 113 to any SD-2 built prior to Sept. 30, 2010.

Hope this will clarify any questions.
