Yes that is right, so if you use Dish you are okay. I use Direct so I will use Motosat.

True that HD is available with Dish network service with domes. Just remember that, bad weather, more than two receivers, or DVR's you are in a situation that may not always work properly. Domes can only see one satellite at a time, unlike an open face dish that looks at all satellites at the same time.
I often use more then one receiver, and always use a DVR, and don't ever wanted to be bothered by wet weather. Open face will do that most all the time. Domes also require maintenance, they must be kept clean. An believe it or not, moisture can get inside and cause lots of bad issues.
No electronics in an open face Motosat, that will fail with wet weather. As for good installers, that is always an issue also, At Indio FMCA, there were 6 or 7 Motosat dealers there, I being one, the BS was flying hi, and I decided after about 15 years of that rally I had enough. I will be near by there all winter, but no long a vendor for that rally.

Vendors at any rally, meeting or get together for any group are independent businesses that, with extremely rare exceptions, are not affiliated, guaranteed, evaluated or have anything designed to protect the purchaser provided by the club hosting it. Most organizations like FMCA will refuse to allow some businesses to work their shows but that is always AFTER the stories of ethics issues have been reported.
A search of messages in the archives of this and other lists and the businesses advertising on the CCI club web page will provide some good guidance on who to use - as well as some to stay away from.
It is sad that we must learn to substitute paranoia for naivete when dealing with the trades. Fortunately there are plenty of ethical businesses out there and they deserve our business.
At rallies before I have anything of significant cost done or purchased I at least check the web for a presence and any comments posted on the various RV mail lists like this one and rv.net.
The best indicator so far for us is recommendations from fellow RV/coach owners.
All said and done I am not sure it is fair to blame FMCA. They are providing a venue only and cannot be responsible for vetting every business that wants to rent a spot. The cost of doing that would make fees sky rocket for everyone, vendors and attendees. Rallies are merely one step above weekend swap meets - buyer beware. The worst offenders at the last FMCA show we went to were the salespeople for the RV resort/lot developments. One guy litterally jumped in front of me in the middle of the aisle and started his pitch at the top of his lungs. He's lucky he didn't get decked. But I don't and can't blame FMCA for his bad behavior - which immediately told me this was someone I would not do business with.
Finally, I will no longer act on the claims of a saleman about how any product will work withot independent corroboraton. Too many try as hard as they can to tell us what they think we want to hear in order to make that sale and many times everything on the planet is junk - except what they happen to have in stock right there.

The good, bad, ugly, could be weeded out fairly quickly by contacting the CCI club, many of them have been around for years, and know who's on first, second and so forth.
FMCA will let anyone who wants attend a rally as vendor, as long as they have a tax #, and million dollar insurance policy. But have 6 or 7 of the same brand of a product, will only cause lots of confusion. Checking out the things that Robet H, is saying, in a great way to find out who is for real, and who is not. Good news travels much slower than bad news, and hopefully people will check out them all and find out who is for real and not for real.
