Leak at connection to water heater

The change in seasons brings things contracting and expanding. I noticed a leak near my right rear wheel and my water pump was running intermittantly meaning somewhere, there was a leak.
Remove the covers on the hot water heater and noticed one of the connections was loose and leaking slightly. Vacuumed up the water and ran a fan until dry.

You all should check yours.

It happened to me last week. It also got my bedroom carpet wet. While fixing that I noticed the refrigerator drain was clogged.

Part of the problem, if your coach was built like my 2000 Intrigue , is that they used 3/4" hose to connect to the water heater and the piping comming out of the water heater is 5/8".
All they did was to tighten the hose clamp to make it work.
If you have the same green silicone rubber hose connected to the water heater that is the cause.
Be thankful you can see the leak. Mine was leaking at the junction of the green hose and the red Goodyear hose that runs from the circulating pump and runs forward to the front heater.
The cure, if you want to correct the problem is to go to an auto parts store and buy 3/4" to 5/8" adapters. They are black plastic and the same thing CC used up front for some of the connections to the heater and the "H" valve. Then use a short length of 5/8" hose to the water heater fittings.

I did this about 9 years ago and it has not leaked since.
