Generator slide

Yahoo Message Number: 65262
my gen slide-out is getting slower and slower -- with lots of squeaks and very jerky. As i inspected it, I noticed several of the bearing type wheels seemed very rusted and close to being siezed. Has anyone got experience lubricating and/or repairing these slides? -- my coach is only 2 years old and this slide really looks beat up and rusted.

Thanks for any help,
Eric

Eric,

Mine was doing the same thing so I just pulled my generator out of the coach with the slide out at the same time. Mine had 8 bearings on the side to control the side thrust and 14 cam rollers that handled the weight. 7 of the 8 side bearings were either froze up or the outer race was completely broken. I Replaced the side rollers and injected oil in the cam rollers and it works like new. The cam rollers have a oil hole in the inner race near the center. If I can help with any questions email me.

Kevin, when will you be headed north up the road ? You have by now completely rebuilt the coach bumper to bumper, yes ? Time to take for a little "spin" burn up some diesel as you can't keep that .99 cent fuel forever.

Al, That's my savings account! I was just thinking it would be fun to go to KC and eat a Fogo de chao's. I need to find a little more of an excuse to burn up 100 gallons of my savings. I haven't forgot about the burgers at Pat's, I'll add that to the list. What else is going on up North before I've got to winterize.
