WiFi In Motion - Any experience with it?

I am looking at various internet connectivity options. I need good coverage both on the road and when set up. There is satellite, but a friend recommended I look at installing the WiFi In Motion kit as an alternative. Do you know if this is worth serious consideration.

I have installed the iCoach unit and I am very happy with it. The addition of an 8 watt booster makes a lot of difference also. Check out there site...

I have been using the service of Verizon for my phone and MiFi. We just went from San Diego to the northern tip of Vancouver, Braniff, Lake Louis, Kentucky, and back west to San Diego. I was never out of service while in the United States. When we went to Canada, we called an told the Verizon that we wanted the special service while in Canada. I think it cost 19 dollars per month.
The verizone card service is about 50 dollars per month. You can look up Verizon MiFi and get more specific information. I did see that AT&T has a similar program that seem to have a smaller monthly payment, but I have completely satisfied with Verizon :Phone and MiFi.

I just shared with you my Verizon MiFi. I read about the motion kit for the motorhome. I can take my MiFi card with me anywhere I go, it is about the size of a credit card.

We installed a hot spot router into which we plug our ALTELL USB air card. Like Stan, we have used this while mobile and stationary from the Midwest to Washington DC along a Northern route and back across the South and then up to Yellowstone which is normally cell challenged. Never had a drop.
Alltel was acquired by Verizon and has tried unsuccessfully to get me to switch air card plans. So far I haven't been forced to update and don't want to because the Alltel is unlimited for about $60/month. We don't stream movies or anything but we could for the same monthly price.
I had researched various boosters and antennas and usually overdo the gimmicks...glad we didn't asthis unit has worked great.

We use the Verizon Air card in a Cradle Point router... plugged into a Wilson 3 watt booster Running our business off of it, it works like a champ... We would HIGHLY recommend our system ..as driving or sitting still.. it works perfect.

We use Verizon MiFi with a Wilson amplifier and its provides good results anywhere you can receive a cell phone signal.

We also use a Verizon aircard and have been all over the US with it. It's in my laptop directly. We only have one laptop so we don't need the MiFi. My sister has the MiFi and works great too.

Has anyone tried the Virgin Mobile service. $40.00 per month unlimited data. Sounds like a great deal, it is my understanding that Virgin uses Sprint network, I've never used Sprint service before and the price sounds too good to be true. Another advantage is that it is month to month with no long term contract obligation.

That is a good deal, but they need to allow access to Sprint's 4G network.

Why not just use a smart phone 3G. I use Verizon, with a Droid, unlimited data with phone tethering to a laptop. I rarely have an issue and it is simple to tether with a click of a button.
Works for me! No additional equipment to purchase and flexible.

The new Verizon router does not need a cradle and creates a wireless hot spot in your coach which can also be used by more than one computer or your neighbor if you give them the code.

One of the most positive returns, if you use Verizon MiFi or some other brand, is you can cancel you internet service at home.

Virgin MiFi 2200 has Unlimited Data Usage and runs on the Sprint 3G Network and costs $150 plus $40 per month and you can cancel your service when you are not using it as it does not make you sign a Contract like Verizon or Sprint and it can connect up to 5 Devices such as a PC or Laptop, etc. You can buy it Online or at Bestbuy.
Verizon MiFi 2200 has a Limit of 5 GB of Data and is the same Wireless device but runs on Verizon's Network and has roaming capabilities so if you aren't going to use more than 5 GB per month it has more area coverage.
However, if you are going to be downloading massive amounts of data such as in Netstreaming Video then the Virgin MiFi 2200 is the way to go.

Thank you for the feedback. I am going to try the amplifier option at home and then move it to the rig. As it turns out, the New York Times had an article on the WiFi amplifiers yesterday. It helped identify other, but similar options.
